Introduction

The Voice Response card allows you to send a spoken response to the user.

You'll find Voice Responses on the Responses tab of the Block Editor.  Voice Responses get added to Response Groups.

How To Use

Add a new Voice Response

New Blocks already have a Response Group with a single Voice Response card in it.  To add a new Voice Response, click on the Voice Response icon at the bottom of the Response Group.

Choosing a Voice

Voice Apps lets you choose which voice you want to use for your voice responses.   The default setting of "Default" means that it will use the default voice for your project. You can change the default voice for the project on the Project Settings page.

To choose a different voice, click the dropdown and choose your desired voice for this response.

Response Text

To enter your response, simply click in the "What do you want to say?" box and type your response.  When you are finished, you can press enter or click off the text box to commit it.

Variables

You can use variables in your Voice Response text.  Just type an open curly bracket "{" to bring up the variables dropdown and choose the appropriate variable.

Random Responses

If you add more than one response text entry, Voice Apps will choose one of them randomly.   This can help make your voice application more engaging and keep it from becoming stale.
